Teva's branded drugs carry the story as generics shrink
Teva's branded drugs are growing fast enough to offset falling generics sales for now, and the pipeline has an approval in hand and another FDA decision due in early 2027. The open questions are the 2027 Austedo price change, the cost of the new government pricing deal and whether duvakitug holds up in phase 3.

Opinion only. The Investor Rank is aibio.space's opinion of the company's business position, drawn from the public sources on this page. It is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security and it is not investment advice. It does not consider the share price, valuation or your circumstances, and it can change at any time. Payments from companies never affect it. How the rank works.
- Technology
- Known drugs, new forms. Teva's growth comes from reformulations such as Weltruza and from antibodies against TL1A and IL-15, alongside a large generics and biosimilars business.
- Odds
- Good near term. Weltruza is approved and ecopipam is under priority review, while duvakitug is in phase 3 after uncontrolled 44-week phase 2b data.
- Balance sheet
- Leveraged but improving. Net debt was $12.9 billion at June 30, 2026, and Teva refinanced about $4.9 billion of notes in September after returning to investment grade.
- Main risk
- Pricing pressure on Austedo. Its Medicare negotiated price starts on Jan. 1, 2027, and a new Medicaid agreement adds pricing commitments with undisclosed terms.
- Watch next
- November events. Third-quarter results on Nov. 3, the R&D Day on Nov. 11 and the Nov. 14 FDA date for the BioXcel drug Teva bid for.
