BioCryst is profitable now. The 2027 readout decides what comes next
BioCryst has turned into a profitable one-drug company that is spending its Orladeyo cash on navenibart and outside deals rather than its own labs. The near-term story is U.S. Orladeyo growth and the pellet launch; the long-term story is whether navenibart works in phase 3 in 2027 and whether management buys good assets.

- Technology
- Proven commercial drug. Orladeyo is an approved oral kallikrein inhibitor with $158.2 million of Q2 sales; navenibart extends the same target to injections every three or six months.
- Odds
- Navenibart is in phase 3. Enrollment finished in June 2026 and top-line data are due in Q3 2027; rare disease phase 3 programs reach filing about 60% of the time.
- Balance sheet
- Profitable but levered. BioCryst held $354.0 million at June 30 and posted Q2 net income, while carrying $400 million of term debt due 2031.
- Main risk
- Single-product dependence. Orladeyo provides nearly all product revenue and faces a generic patent challenge and new HAE competitors.
- Watch next
- Pellet launch numbers. Q3 results on November 4 will be the first with pediatric pellet sales, and BCX17725 data are due by year end.
