Corcept's cancer launch is working. December decides the rest
Corcept returned to profit in the second quarter and has added a fast-growing cancer drug to an aging Cushing's franchise. The December FDA decision on relacorilant in Cushing's syndrome will show whether it can replace Korlym before generics erode it. Legal cases and launch spending are the costs to watch.

Payments from companies never affect it. How the rank works.
- Technology
- Proven in two diseases. Korlym treats Cushing's syndrome, and Lifyorli cut the risk of death 35% in a phase 3 ovarian cancer trial.
- Odds
- Mixed near term. EU approval of Lifyorli looks likely after a positive CHMP opinion, but the Cushing's decision follows a prior rejection.
- Balance sheet
- Back in profit. Corcept earned $43.0 million in Q2 after a $31.8 million loss in Q1, and held $544.6 million in cash and investments.
- Main risk
- Korlym generics. Teva's generic is on the market, and more could follow under settlements with Sun and Hikma.
- Watch next
- December FDA decision. The relacorilant Cushing's decision is due by Dec. 17, 2026.
