IDEAYA's eye cancer drug is near the market. The pipeline must do the rest
IDEAYA has a drug with positive randomized data, a filing in progress and more than $1.2 billion in the bank. The approval case looks sound; the commercial ceiling in uveal melanoma is the limit. Whether IDE849 and the MTAP programs work will decide how big the company can get.

- Technology
- Validated in a randomized trial. Darovasertib plus crizotinib cut the risk of progression or death by 58% (hazard ratio 0.42) in OptimUM-02.
- Odds
- High for the lead drug. The NDA is due to be completed in the second half of 2026, and 90.6% of filed drugs win approval historically.
- Balance sheet
- Strong. About $1.24 billion at June 30, 2026 after a $323.4 million net raise, with runway into 2030.
- Main risk
- Small market. GlobalData forecasts $709 million of darovasertib sales by 2032, so growth needs earlier settings or the pipeline.
- Watch next
- Filing and first ADC data. IDEAYA expects to complete the NDA and report its own IDE849 data in the second half of 2026.
