The paper, published online on October 13, 2026, includes a pediatric compassionate-use case report. Quoin also described interim results from its Phase 2/3 study.
The designation is the eighth regulatory milestone for QRX003, according to the company. If QRX003 is approved in the EU, it would receive 10 years of market exclusivity.
The designation is the second Fast Track for QRX003, after Netherton Syndrome in March 2026. It follows an IND that the FDA cleared in July 2026.
The designation is the second Rare Pediatric Disease Designation for QRX003. Quoin said an approved application could qualify it for a priority review voucher.
Quoin agreed to sell 6,305,300 ADSs or pre-funded warrants at $4.88 and warrants for up to 3,152,650 ADSs, for about $30.8 million at closing. The same day it reported interim results from six patients, and its 10-K carries a going-concern warning.
Quoin said it had about $10.8 million in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities as of June 30, 2026, and that it expects that position to fund operations into 2027.
The FDA conditionally accepted QYLEKI as the proposed brand name for QRX003 in Netherton Syndrome, and the company says a pivotal Phase 3 study is expected to start in the second half of 2026.
Quoin said an FDA Type C meeting indicated a single Phase 3 study may be sufficient for U.S. approval of QRX003, and reported approximately $14 million in cash as of March 31, 2026.
Quoin sold ADSs and pre-funded warrants with four series of warrants whose cash exercise depends on FDA and trial events that the filings do not report as having happened. Maxim Group LLC was the exclusive placement agent, and director Dennis Langer took part.
Nasdaq said on April 29, 2025 that Quoin's ADSs closed at $1.00 or more from April 9 to April 28, closing the minimum bid price matter. The company says it has no commercialized product and has generated no revenue to date.
Quoin Pharmaceuticals priced a $6.8 million offering at $0.45 per ADS, below the $0.647 close on December 19. Older warrants were repriced to the same level, and the prospectus sets no minimum amount for the deal to close.
