Vir Biotechnology is developing investigational therapies for hepatitis delta virus (HDV) and multiple solid tumors. In hepatitis delta, it has initiated its registrational ECLIPSE clinical program evaluating a combination of tobevibart and elebsiran in people living with chronic hepatitis delta. In oncology, the company is advancing three Phase 1 clinical studies of dual-masked T-cell engagers, including VIR-5500 in patients with PSMA-expressing metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. It is also advancing multiple undisclosed PRO-XTEN dual-masked T-cell engagers that target clinically validated targets across a variety of solid tumors. Its discovery engine combines the dAIsY platform, which uses artificial intelligence and machine learning for antibody optimization, with PRO-XTEN masking technology. Vir in-licensed PRO-XTEN from Sanofi for worldwide rights in oncology and infectious diseases. The PRO-XTEN trademark belongs to Amunix Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a Sanofi company.
