Coya Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing therapies that enhance the function of regulatory T cells (Tregs). The company says Treg dysfunction is an important pathophysiological component of neurodegenerative, autoimmune and metabolic diseases. Its lead asset, COYA 302, is a Treg-enhancing biologic that combines the company's proprietary low dose interleukin-2 (COYA 301, or LD IL-2) with the immunomodulatory drug CTLA4-Ig. Coya is conducting the ALSTARS Trial, a Phase 2, randomized, multi-center, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of COYA 302 for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The FDA accepted the company's Investigational New Drug application for COYA 302 in August 2025, and the company announced dosing of ALS patients in December 2025. Coya's autologous Treg cell therapy has completed Phase 1 and Phase 2a studies in ALS. The company also describes Treg-derived exosomes as one of its three modalities. Its net loss was $21.2 million for the year ended December 31, 2025, and it had an accumulated deficit of $62.0 million at that date.
