BeOne is a BRUKINSA company buying options on its next act

Revenue grew 30% last quarter and guidance went up. The question is what carries BeOne once BRUKINSA's growth slows, and the answers so far are early.

The technology

BeOne, formerly BeiGene, is a global cancer company built around one drug. BRUKINSA (zanubrutinib) is a BTK inhibitor for B-cell blood cancers. It sold $1.2 billion in the second quarter of 2026, up 31%, out of $1.705 billion in total revenue. The rest comes mostly from TEVIMBRA (tislelizumab), a PD-1 antibody, and drugs licensed from Amgen.

The next blood cancer layer is sonrotoclax, a BCL-2 inhibitor the FDA approved as BEQALZI in May for relapsed or refractory mantle cell lymphoma, and tacabrutideg (BGB-16673), a BTK degrader. BeOne's plan is to combine sonrotoclax with BRUKINSA as a fixed-duration first-line CLL regimen. In solid tumors it has a CDK4 inhibitor in phase 3 in breast cancer, a B7-H4 antibody-drug conjugate and a GPC3x4-1BB bispecific heading into phase 3, and Asian rights to Revolution Medicines' RAS(ON) inhibitors.

The odds

The base business is de-risked. BRUKINSA keeps adding data: in June it beat bendamustine and rituximab in first-line mantle cell lymphoma, cutting the risk of progression or death by 43%. Filings follow in the second half of 2026.

The new drugs carry ordinary odds. Industry data put the chance of a phase 3 cancer drug reaching an application at 60.0% for blood cancers and 42.9% for solid tumors, and the chance of approval from phase 1 at 7.5% and 4.6% respectively. BEQALZI's U.S. label rests on a single-arm trial of 103 patients with a 52% response rate, so broader use depends on randomized data still to come. The solid tumor programs are earlier, and several target areas where other companies are already in late-stage trials.

The money

BeOne is profitable and generating cash. Second-quarter GAAP net income was $237 million and free cash flow $435 million. Cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash were $5.28 billion at June 30, against $1.07 billion of debt and a $906 million royalty sale liability. First-half free cash flow was $596 million, against $207 million a year earlier, so the business now funds itself.

Guidance went up in August: 2026 revenue of $6.6 billion to $6.8 billion and GAAP operating income of $1.0 billion to $1.1 billion. BeOne agreed to fund a global phase 3 for Revolution Medicines; the cost was not disclosed, and its guidance assumes no new material business development.

The risks

Concentration comes first. BRUKINSA is about 70% of revenue, and BeOne's 10-Q says it derives the substantial portion of its revenue from U.S. sales. U.S. pricing is the second: the 10-Q warns that international reference pricing could force larger rebates, and BeOne was one of nine drugmakers announced as signing most-favored-nation agreements with the U.S. government on August 31. The third is execution on many programs at once; R&D spending rose 17% to $612 million in the quarter.

Our read

BeOne has turned a fast-growing BTK inhibitor into a profitable global company that generates cash. Over the next year the story is BRUKINSA's first-line MCL filing and whether sonrotoclax can move from a small third-line label into CLL. The solid tumor pipeline is the long-term option, and BeOne is buying more of it through low-upfront deals like Huahui's HH160. The thing to watch is how much of the growth still comes from one molecule in one country. In the second quarter, U.S. BRUKINSA sales were $893 million, more than half of the company's total revenue. If sonrotoclax and the BTK degrader succeed, they extend the same franchise; real diversification depends on the solid tumor programs that start phase 3 trials over the next year.
