Nuwellis, Inc. (Nasdaq: NUWE) filed an investor presentation dated August 2026 with a Form 8-K on August 26, 2026, as Exhibit 99.1. The deck summarizes the company's first-half 2026 growth, its second-quarter gross margin and its cash runway. It also lays out the company's plans for its Aquadex system and a next-generation pediatric platform. The presentation includes forward-looking statements, and the company says it undertakes no obligation to update them.
The growth figures
The presentation says first-half 2026 revenue grew 20% over the prior-year period. It also says second-quarter 2026 gross margins improved to 76%, compared with 56% in the prior-year period. The deck breaks first-half revenue growth down by customer group. Pediatrics grew 29%, critical care grew 28% and heart failure grew 27%. Pediatric patients represent 50% of the company's revenues, according to the deck.
The company describes its footprint as about 135 active hospital accounts, including leading U.S. academic hospitals and Centers of Excellence. The deck also says Aquadex has been installed in 47 leading U.S. children's hospitals, where it is integrated into NICUs, PICUs and CVICUs. The company says the pediatric installations validate both the clinical demand for the product and the growing commercial footprint in pediatric centers.
The Aquadex platform
The deck describes Aquadex as a clinically proven system for precise, predictable fluid removal. It is designed for critically ill patients and allows controlled fluid removal when diuretics fail. The presentation says Aquadex is used in ICU, cardiac surgery and pediatric critical care programs, and that its low priming blood volume of 35 ml can help in children with acute kidney injury or end-stage kidney disease.
The deck sets out a recurring revenue model. Hospitals can buy, lease or rent the Aquadex console, which is a one-time capital purchase. Each treatment uses a single-use disposable, and the company calls that disposable revenue high margin. The deck says acquisition models are flexible and that utilization is increasing as adoption spreads.
The company plans to expand the Aquadex labelled weight indication to patients above 5kg. It also describes Vivian as the next-generation pediatric renal support platform, supporting patients as small as 2.5kg. The deck says the company is developing new products and planned label expansions that would broaden its offering.
The market and the cash runway
The presentation says total platform potential opportunity exceeds $4.2 billion in the U.S., a company estimate. It divides the opportunity into five segments: critical care, inpatient heart failure, outpatient heart failure, pediatrics and fluid monitoring.
The deck says the company has cash runway through 2Q27 to implement near-term growth initiatives.
What comes next
The deck is a sales document and every figure in it is the company's own. The growth rates sit on a small base. The 10-K filed March 11, 2026 reported revenue of $8.3 million for 2025, down from $8.7 million, and a net loss of $17.5 million, up from $11.2 million. Cash used in operations was $10.8 million, and cash and cash equivalents were $1.1 million at the end of 2025, according to the 10-Q filed August 13, 2026. The runway through 2Q27 therefore rests on money raised since then, and the deck does not say how much cash the company holds or what the runway assumes.
The deck names a label expansion above 5kg, new products and partnerships as next steps. It gives no dates for any of them, and it does not say where the label change stands with regulators.
