Lifeloc Technologies, Inc. reported results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, in a release dated August 13, 2026. Net revenue for the second quarter was $2.445 million, up 10% from $2.219 million a year earlier. The company reported a quarterly net loss of $134 thousand, or $(0.05) per diluted share, compared with a net loss of $394 thousand, or $(0.14) per diluted share, in the second quarter of 2025.

Results for the quarter and the half

Total gross margin in the second quarter rose to 45%, from 42% a year earlier. For the six months, net revenue was $4.739 million, compared with $4.496 million, and the net loss was $287 thousand, or $(0.10) per diluted share, compared with $686 thousand, or $(0.25) per diluted share. Gross margin for the first six months was 44%, against 41%. The company credits price increases and a more favorable product mix.

Research and development spending was $560 thousand for the quarter, mainly for development of the SpinDetect analyzer. The company said that spending caused the loss.

Alcohol detection products

Lifeloc said its L-series LX9 and LT7 units bring smartphone pairing, wider temperature ranges and fast customization that includes local languages. The company said the L-series devices are certified to meet the requirements of most modern registration standards, such as the latest AS 3547:2019 standard for breath alcohol detectors. The company said its Easycal automated calibration station, the only automated calibration available for portable breath alcohol testers, has contributed to market share gains.

SpinDetect drug analyzer

The company describes SpinDetect, a centrifugal drug analyzer it calls "Lab on a Disk," as a platform for rapid, on-site, quantitative drug testing at roadside, emergency rooms, forensic labs and workplace testing sites. Lifeloc said it has detected delta-9-THC, cocaine, fentanyl, amphetamine and methamphetamine, morphine, MDMA and benzodiazepines from oral fluid. It validated its results against liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, the laboratory standard, using real-world human saliva samples, and reports a limit of detection of approximately 10 ng/ml.

The company says the microfluidic disk design is complete, and that all analytical chemistry now happens on the disk after sample introduction. Disks have been molded and assays loaded for evaluation, and final component and process optimization is ongoing. Reader hardware, firmware, drug assays and reagent handling are substantially complete. Lifeloc will begin beta testing of the oral fluid analyzer, focused on delta-9-THC detection using a prototype reader, under a signed beta testing agreement. So the product is still a prototype, beta testing has not started, and the release reports no sales, no regulatory steps and no customer data for it. The detection results come from the company's own validation and carry no independent confirmation in the release.

Chief Executive Officer Dr. Wayne Willkomm said, "It is great to see assays performed with all the chemistry occurring on the disk." He added that a second dispensing robot was scheduled for delivery later in the month.

Financing

During the quarter, Lifeloc closed $500,000 of financing through a loan from its Chairman of the Board, who also serves as its Chief Financial Officer. The loan was detailed in an 8-K filed May 8, 2026. The key terms are 10.5% interest, adjustable upward based on the prime rate, interest-only payments in 2026, and monthly payments after that which fully repay the loan in 5 years. It has no prepayment penalty and is secured by all of the company's assets. Lifeloc said these terms were more favorable than commercial alternatives.

Balance sheet and next steps

Cash and cash equivalents were $908,208 at June 30, 2026, up from $746,001 at December 31, 2025, in a period when the company took a $500,000 loan from its Chairman and CFO. Total liabilities rose to $3,262,172 from $2,582,790. The company reported a net loss for the quarter and the half, and for 2025 the annual data show a net loss of $2.5 million and negative cash from operations of $499,319. The balance sheet includes a related-party term loan of $460,922 that was not outstanding at year end. The company said it is targeting a limited commercial launch of SpinDetect in the first quarter of 2027.
