The cure

Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (Nasdaq: LEXX) said on August 17, 2026 that it has cured its Nasdaq bid price deficiency. The company received a letter that day from the Hearings Advisor of The Nasdaq Stock Market. The letter said the Nasdaq Listings Qualifications Staff had confirmed that the company regained compliance with the bid price requirement in Nasdaq Listing Rule 5550(a)(2), which sets the minimum bid price for companies on The Nasdaq Capital Market.

Because of that confirmation, the hearing the company had requested has been cancelled. Its common stock, with a par value of $0.001 per share, will continue to be listed and trade on The Nasdaq Capital Market under the symbol LEXX. The company reported the news in an 8-K under the heading "Cure of Nasdaq Bid Price Deficiency." The filing is signed by Chief Executive Officer Richard Christopher, and the company is a Nevada corporation with offices in Kelowna, British Columbia.

The 8-K is brief. It does not describe the share price movement behind the cure, and it does not say what steps the company took to restore the bid price.

What the company does

Lexaria describes itself as a biotechnology company dedicated to enhancing the bioavailability of a broad range of active pharmaceutical ingredients using its patented DehydraTECH drug delivery technology. The platform combines an active ingredient with long-chain fatty acid-rich triglyceride oils and carrier compounds, then uses controlled dehydration processing to associate the two at a molecular level.

The company says DehydraTECH can be used with GLP-1 and GIP drugs, vitamins, pain medications, hormones, antivirals, nicotine and its analogs, and cannabinoids. It says the technology can be applied to diabetes, weight loss, epilepsy, hypertension and heart disease, and in oral suspensions, tablets, capsules, foods, beverages and oral pouches. Those claims about increased effectiveness and lower overall dosing are the company's own description of the platform.

The stated business plan is to encourage new and existing industry participants to license DehydraTECH for products that span GLP-1 and GIP drugs, NSAIDs, nicotine and cannabidiol, with more molecules under evaluation. The company says its primary focus is pharmaceutical drug products, while the technology also extends to nutraceuticals, foods and beverages.

The company's involvement with the foundational technology dates to 2014, when it entered a strategic relationship with Poppy's Teas LLC and the original inventors, who had filed two initial U.S. provisional patent applications. Its wholly owned subsidiary Poviva Corp. is the named owner on all of the DehydraTECH patents, and the annual report counts 56 patents allowed or granted worldwide as of its filing.

The financial record

For the fiscal year ended August 31, 2025, revenue was $705,923, against $464,278 a year earlier. Research and development expense rose to $8.2 million from $2.4 million, and the net loss widened to $11.9 million from $5.8 million. Cash used in operations was $10.5 million, up from $5.0 million.

Cash and cash equivalents fell to $1.8 million at August 31, 2025, from $6.5 million a year earlier. Short-term investments were $143,267, against $55,807. In a quarterly report filed in July 2026, cash and cash equivalents were $3.5 million at May 31, 2026, and short-term investments were $142,103.

The regained compliance therefore comes with a reported cash balance of $3.5 million at May 31, 2026, against a fiscal 2025 cash use of $10.5 million. The 8-K does not discuss the company's cash, its financing plans or any further Nasdaq test.
