Interpace Biosciences, Inc. reported second quarter 2026 results in a release dated August 10, 2026, which it filed with the SEC on Form 8-K on August 12, 2026. Revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 was $9.1 million, compared with $9.2 million in the second quarter of 2025. Income from continuing operations was $0.3 million, against a loss from continuing operations of $0.5 million a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA was $0.7 million, or 8% of revenue. The company said the quarter included about $0.2 million of non-recurring professional fees tied to its strategic and corporate initiatives.

The thyroid business and the pro forma comparison

The company discontinued its PancraGEN pancreatic testing business in May 2025 and now operates as a thyroid-only molecular diagnostics company. Because the prior-year reported results still include PancraGEN, the company also presents pro forma prior-year figures that exclude it. Beginning with the third quarter of 2026, reported year-over-year comparisons will be presented on that thyroid-only basis.

Against the pro forma second quarter of 2025, the company reported revenue growth of 9% from $8.4 million. Gross profit as a percentage of revenue was 62%, compared with 54% on the pro forma basis. Adjusted EBITDA was $0.7 million, compared with $0.2 million, and adjusted EBITDA margin was 8%, compared with 3%. The company said these pro forma measures are non-GAAP and do not represent GAAP financial measures.

Thyroid revenue rose 9% from a year earlier, and thyroid volume rose 6%. Trailing twelve-month thyroid revenue was $36.1 million, an increase of approximately 11% on a comparable thyroid-only basis, on trailing twelve-month thyroid test volume growth of approximately 10%.

Chief Financial Officer Chris McCarthy said the company's "debt-free balance sheet" supports investment in laboratory automation and AI-enabled productivity initiatives.

Six-month results and cash

For the six months ended June 30, 2026, revenue was $18.2 million, an increase of 12% from $16.3 million in the pro forma prior-year period. Income from continuing operations was $1.1 million, compared with a pro forma loss of $0.2 million, and included about $0.5 million of non-recurring professional fees. Adjusted EBITDA for the six months was $2.3 million, or 13% of revenue.

Second quarter cash collections totaled $8.8 million, compared with $10.8 million in the prior-year quarter and $9.1 million on a pro forma basis. SEC XBRL data shows year-end cash and cash equivalents of $2.5 million for 2025 and $1.5 million for 2024.

Pipeline and leadership

The company said it will add a Chief Scientific Officer to its executive leadership team, effective September 8, 2026. That officer will lead scientific and clinical strategy, including assay development, validation and evidence generation.

Interpace is also seeking to extend its next-generation sequencing and microRNA platforms into pancreatic cancer. Analytical validation of the panel design is underway, and clinical validation and utility studies are planned across 2026 and 2027, with reimbursement and launch activities to follow. The company says the product is in development, is not yet available for clinical use, and has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. It does not expect the program to contribute revenue in 2026.

What the headline leaves out

On the reported basis revenue slipped, to $9.1 million from $9.2 million, and the growth rates come from a pro forma comparison the company built, which it says is non-GAAP. Cash collections fell to $8.8 million from $10.8 million in the prior-year quarter. The quarterly profit of $0.3 million is small, and the adjusted EBITDA figure is also non-GAAP. The company has no cleared pancreatic product, and it says it does not expect that program to contribute revenue in 2026. The company said the second quarter demonstrates the durability of its thyroid business and that it expects to build on that momentum through the rest of 2026; those are its own words. It also said its laboratory automation is scaling operating leverage in line with volume growth without a corresponding increase in headcount.
