IN8bio, Inc. (Nasdaq: INAB) reported first quarter 2026 financial results and business highlights in a press release dated May 7, 2026. The release was furnished with an 8-K filing. As of March 31, 2026, the company had cash of $21.9 million, compared with $11.9 million a year earlier. It reported a net loss of $5.1 million, or $0.26 per basic and diluted common share, for the three months ended March 31, 2026, compared with a net loss of $5.6 million, or $2.16 per share, a year earlier.

IN8bio describes itself as a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing gamma-delta (γδ) T cell and γδ T cell engager product candidates for cancer and autoimmune diseases. Its pipeline is anchored by INB-600, a novel γδ T cell engager platform. It also advances INB-100, an allogeneic γδ T cell candidate for adult patients with high-risk leukemias, and INB-200/400, an autologous genetically modified γδ T cell candidate for newly diagnosed glioblastoma (GBM).

First quarter results

Research and development expenses were $2.6 million for the three months ended March 31, 2026, compared with $3.0 million a year earlier. The company said the decrease primarily reflects lower clinical trial activity in the INB-400 program. General and administrative expenses were $2.7 million, the same as the prior year period. Both figures include non-cash items such as stock-based compensation and depreciation.

The XBRL data in the company's filings lists research and development expense of $10.2 million for fiscal 2025, compared with $17.0 million for fiscal 2024. Net loss was $19.4 million for 2025, against $30.4 million for 2024. Cash from operations was negative $12.7 million for 2025, compared with negative $24.1 million for 2024.

Glioblastoma and platform progress

In January 2026, the company reported updated data as of December 31, 2025 from its Phase 1 INB-200 and Phase 2 INB-400 trials in newly diagnosed GBM. The data included a concurrent standard-of-care control group enrolled at the same time and clinical sites. Median progression-free survival for repeat-dose patients was 13.0 months, compared with 6.6 months for standard-of-care patients, a +97% improvement as the company described it. Median overall survival in repeat-dose patients was 17.2+ months, compared with 13.2 months for the control arm. One grade 4, IDH-mutant glioma patient had remained progression-free with no additional therapy for more than 4.5 years. The company reported no dose-limiting toxicities, cytokine release syndrome, neurotoxicity or tumor inflammation-associated neurotoxicity.

On INB-619, a CD19-targeting gamma-delta T cell engager, the company presented preclinical data showing complete B cell depletion, robust gamma-delta T cell expansion and minimal CRS-associated cytokine release, including IL-6 and TNF-α. It is progressing INB-619 into IND-enabling studies, with initial animal data expected in 2026.

The company planned an R&D Day on May 21, 2026, and updated median overall survival data for the American Society of Clinical Oncology 2026 Annual Meeting on June 1.

What comes next

The company listed anticipated milestones for 2026. These include FDA guidance on potential accelerated regulatory pathways for the GBM program in the second half of the year, publication of the Phase 1 INB-200 data in a peer-reviewed journal, and initial preclinical animal data for INB-619 in the second half. It also expects to complete INB-100 patient dosing and present long-term follow-up results at a medical meeting in late 2026.

The claims come with caveats. The glioblastoma figures come from an early Phase 1 and Phase 2 program, and the control group was enrolled at the same time and sites, not randomized. The release gives no patient counts, p-values or confidence intervals, and the 97% improvement in progression-free survival is the company's description. The overall survival figure of 17.2+ months is still immature. The one patient progression-free for more than 4.5 years has an IDH-mutant glioma, a single case. The FDA has not yet given guidance on an accelerated pathway, which the company expects in the second half. The 10-K's forward-looking statements list its ability to mitigate substantial doubt about continuing as a going concern, and 2025 net loss was $19.4 million with cash from operations of negative $12.7 million. INB-619 has only preclinical data.
