The business behind the share count
The annual report, filed on March 16, 2026, calls CytomX a clinical-stage, oncology-focused biopharmaceutical company built on its PROBODY platform. The most advanced program is Varseta-M, an investigational, conditionally activated antibody-drug conjugate aimed at EpCAM and initially focused on colorectal cancer. The report says Varseta-M carries a topoisomerase-1 inhibitor payload licensed from AbbVie, formerly ImmunoGen.
The report also says earlier high-affinity EpCAM antibodies were limited by pancreatitis and liver toxicities and were discontinued. It describes Varseta-M and CX-801 as its two clinical programs, both in Phase 1. It puts existing later-line treatments for metastatic colorectal cancer at median progression-free survival of 2 to 5.6 months and overall survival of about 6 to 11 months. The company plans combination strategies to move Varseta-M into earlier lines of therapy, starting in 2026.
Recent financial position
The annual report shows revenue of $76.2 million for 2025, down from $138.1 million in 2024. Research and development expense was $68.7 million in 2025, down from $83.4 million. The company reported a net loss of $17.4 million for 2025, after net income of $31.9 million in 2024. Cash used in operations was $75.6 million in 2025, against $86.2 million in 2024.
At the end of 2024, the company held $38.1 million in cash and cash equivalents and $62.6 million in short-term investments. The 8-K contains no cash or balance-sheet figures. The 8-K says both plan changes took effect on the date of stockholder approval.
