AIM ImmunoTech Inc. (NYSE American: AIM) said on May 14, 2026 that it posted an on-demand Virtual Investor KOL Connect segment. The segment features Professor Casper H.J. van Eijck, MD, PhD, a pancreato-biliary surgeon at Erasmus Medical Center (Erasmus MC) and a consultant for AIM, together with Chief Executive Officer Thomas K. Equels, MS, JD. The company said the segment examines Ampligen's mechanism of action, its existing clinical data, the development strategy and the anticipated regulatory milestones in late-stage pancreatic cancer.

The named patient program results

The company says the segment draws on the AIM and Erasmus MC Named Patient Program, which used Ampligen as a monotherapy in late-stage pancreatic cancer. The release compares program outcomes with historical controls. Progression-free survival was 12.6 months, compared with 8.6 months for historical controls, an improvement of 4 months. Overall survival was 19.7 months, compared with 12.5 months, an improvement of 7.2 months.

Stratified by a neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio below 4.5, progression-free survival was 17.7 months, compared with 8.6 months, an improvement of 9.1 months. Overall survival in the same group was 34.8 months, compared with 12.5 months, an improvement of 22.3 months. Stratified by CA 19-9 below 1000, progression-free survival was 13.1 months, an improvement of 4.5 months over historical controls, and overall survival was 24.1 months, an improvement of 11.6 months.

The company also says clinical experience in the named patient program and in the DURIPANC study suggests consistent improvement in quality of life.

The DURIPANC study

DURIPANC is a Phase 2 study of Ampligen in combination with AstraZeneca's anti-PD-L1 checkpoint inhibitor Imfinzi (durvalumab) in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer after FOLFIRINOX. The company describes it as a follow-up to the named patient program. The study is registered as NCT05927142 on ClinicalTrials.gov. The company previously reported positive interim progress in its Mid-Year 2025 and Year-End 2025 reports.

The company's annual report describes DURIPANC as an investigator-initiated, exploratory, open-label, single-center study expected to enroll up to 25 subjects in its Phase 2 portion, with clinical benefit rate as the primary objective. It says eighteen patients have been enrolled. The release points readers to the company's corporate presentation for a more detailed analysis of the early access program and the Phase 2 trial.

The published record

The company lists four peer-reviewed publications on the Erasmus MC work. They cover rintatolimod's effect on dendritic cell-mediated T-cell responses in advanced pancreatic cancer, its potential in patients whose tumors express Toll-like receptor 3, its association with B cell numbers and longer survival after FOLFIRINOX, and its antiviral activity in human pancreatic cancer cells. The titles are dated 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Financial position

The XBRL figures from the company's 10-K show revenue of $88,000 for 2025, compared with $170,000 for 2024. Research and development expense was $3.9 million in 2025 and $6.2 million in 2024. The net loss was $14.0 million in 2025 and $17.3 million in 2024. Cash used in operations was $11.0 million in 2025 and $14.9 million in 2024. At year-end 2024, cash and cash equivalents were $1.7 million and short-term investments were $2.3 million.

The risks ahead

The release compares program outcomes with historical controls, not with a randomized control group, and DURIPANC is a single-center exploratory study of up to 25 subjects. Ampligen is not approved by the FDA for any use in the United States. The company says it expects a Mid-Year 2026 report and enrollment completion in June 2026, and it anticipates regulatory milestones without giving dates. The 10-K shows a net loss of $14.0 million and cash used in operations of $11.0 million for 2025, and the company says no assurance can be given that trials will succeed.
