MiMedx Group provides a portfolio of products for wound care, burn and surgical applications, built on placental tissue allografts. The company says its human-derived products start from donated birth tissue, namely the human placental membrane, umbilical cord and placental disc, which it sources through a donor network developed over more than a decade. Its primary areas of clinical use in the United States include surgical settings and the treatment of wounds, and to a lesser extent burns. Domestic sales account for the vast majority of its revenue. The company describes chronic wounds as affecting more than 10 million Medicare beneficiaries in the United States. Beginning in 2024, MiMedx broadened its portfolio to include animal-derived products, or xenografts, and in 2025 and early 2026 it entered into agreements with manufacturers of other wound care modalities. The company continues to pursue international expansion, primarily targeting Japan.
