What Kodiak Sciences does
Kodiak Sciences develops next-generation therapeutics for retinal diseases using its Antibody Biopolymer Conjugate, or ABC, platform, with the goal of preventing and treating the major causes of blindness. Its lead investigational medicine, tarcocimab tedromer, also called Zenkuda or KSI-301, is an anti-VEGF therapy with a mean ocular half-life in humans of 20 days. The company says Zenkuda has completed four Phase 3 pivotal studies, in diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion and wet AMD. The Phase 3 DAYBREAK study in wet AMD has completed enrollment and is testing both Zenkuda and KSI-501, an anti-IL-6 VEGF-trap bispecific therapy, with topline results expected in 3Q 2026. KSI-101, a high strength bispecific protein targeting IL-6 and VEGF, is being developed for macular edema secondary to inflammation in the Phase 3 PEAK and PINNACLE studies, with topline readouts expected in 4Q 2026 and 2Q 2027. Kodiak is also extending its platform to conjugate small molecules to its biopolymer backbone. It has commissioned Ursus, a commercial-scale drug substance facility built with Lonza, and the company says it retains all global rights to its product candidates.
