Immutep Ltd. is a late-stage biotechnology company developing LAG-3 related immunotherapies for cancer and autoimmune disease. Its lead clinical candidate is eftilagimod alfa, known as efti or IMP321, a soluble LAG-3 fusion protein that the company describes as a first-in-class antigen-presenting cell agonist. In March 2026, following a planned interim futility analysis, Immutep discontinued TACTI-004, its registrational Phase III trial of efti with an anti-PD-1 therapy and chemotherapy in first-line non-small cell lung cancer, and began an orderly wind-down. The company says it completed the randomized Phase IIb TACTI-003 trial of efti in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and received positive, constructive feedback from the FDA on further development. During fiscal 2026 it licensed efti to Dr. Reddy's Laboratories for all markets outside what it calls the Immutep Territory, which includes the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan and Greater China. The license with Novartis for IMP701, also called ieramilimab, was terminated, and the asset is being transferred back to Immutep. Immutep also develops IMP761, an agonist of LAG-3 for autoimmune disease. It employed 46 people as of June 30, 2026, and relies on outside contractors and consultants for manufacturing and clinical trials.
