XORTX Therapeutics Inc. (Nasdaq: [XRTX](https://aibio.space/companies/xortx-therapeutics/)) filed a notice of late filing on May 1, 2025 for its annual report on Form 20-F for the year ended December 31, 2024.

The notice is a Form 12b-25, which a company files when a periodic report cannot be filed on time without unreasonable effort or expense. It gives the company a short grace period.

XORTX says it requires additional time to complete work related to its financial reporting, closing procedures and other disclosure items. As a result, it is still in the process of compiling the information needed to complete the Form 20-F.

The company says it is diligently working to file the report as soon as reasonably practicable. It expects to do so on or before the fifteenth calendar day following the prescribed due date.
