## The new bank loans

Medincell SA (Euronext Paris: [MEDCL](https://aibio.space/companies/medincell/)) said on July 15, 2026 that it has completed non-dilutive financing transactions meant to align its debt maturities with its expected revenue growth. It has secured €28 million of loans from four European commercial banks, which it calls leading banks. The facilities have a five-year maturity, with monthly or quarterly amortization of principal, and bear interest "in line with current market conditions", with no covenant or equity-linked instruments attached.

The release does not name the four banks, give the interest rate or fees, or name any placement agent, financial advisor or counsel. The company says the loans strengthen its long-term financial flexibility and cash profile.

## Repaying half of the EIB facility

In parallel, Medincell will repay by the end of July 2026 the first tranche of its existing €40 million European Investment Bank (EIB) credit facility, entered into in 2022. That tranche is €20 million of principal together with related capitalized interest. Before the transaction it was fully repayable at maturity in December 2027. The release's table lists €4.3 million of capitalized interest on that tranche before the transaction and €3.3 million of capitalized interest in its repayment, and it does not explain the difference.

The remaining €20 million sits in two tranches of €10 million each, each with €1.6 million of capitalized interest, originally repayable in January 2028 and July 2028. Those tranches are now combined into a partially amortizing profile. Medincell will repay €200,000 of principal monthly together with a 5% cash interest, then make a final one-off repayment of €17.5 million in July 2028.

The company says the transaction is expected to reduce the total financial costs associated with EIB financing by approximately €1 million over the remaining life of the facilities, and that overall debt maturity is extended to July 2031. The release does not show how the saving was calculated. The EIB balance still falls due in July 2028, well before 2031. The release points to earlier press releases for the remuneration and associated warrants of the initial EIB financing and for the waiver of the warrants put option dated March 26, 2026, and it gives none of those terms itself.

## The revenue the debt depends on

Medincell says its cash flows are expected to come primarily from milestones and royalties from UZEDY, which is already marketed, and from Olanzapine LAI, which is under regulatory review in the U.S. and Europe. Both products are partnered with Teva. The company says approval of Olanzapine LAI is anticipated in Q4 2026. That is an expectation, not an approval.

The release describes risperidone LAI as the first treatment based on its BEPO technology to receive FDA approval, for schizophrenia in April 2023 and for Bipolar I Disorder in October 2025. Teva markets it in the United States as UZEDY. It was also approved for schizophrenia in Canada and South Korea in 2025. Teva submitted a New Drug Application for Olanzapine LAI as a once-monthly treatment for schizophrenia in adults to the FDA in December 2025, and the FDA accepted it on February 20, 2026. The European Medicines Agency accepted a Marketing Authorization Application in May 2026. The release gives no UZEDY sales figure and no decision date for either application.

## Cash and what is missing

Chief Financial Officer Stéphane Postic said that as of March 31, 2026, the company held €84.8 million in cash and cash equivalents. That figure is more than three months older than the release, and the release gives no revenue, net loss or cash used in operations. It does not state the company's cash after the repayment.

Chief Executive Officer Christophe Douat called the move a natural step in executing the company's strategy, saying "we are aligning our financial structure with our expected revenue growth." The new debt is repayable from cash flows that depend largely on a partner's sales and on pending regulatory decisions.

Medincell describes itself as a clinical- and commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company that develops and licenses long-acting injectable treatments. It is based in Montpellier, France, and employs over 150 people. Its pipeline runs from formulation to Phase 3 trials.
