Lifeloc Technologies, Inc. said in a release dated June 15, 2026, that it has completed the production mold for its SpinDetect consumable test disks and produced first-article disks, which have undergone initial testing. Minor mold modifications identified in that testing have been completed, and new production disks are available for continued validation. The company also commissioned a cleanroom with an automated reagent-dispensing robot to move the program from development into validation and early production.

## Production tooling and cleanroom

Lifeloc said the cleanroom and dispensing robot mark the move of SpinDetect from a development program into a product. Chief Executive Officer Dr. Wayne Willkomm said, "Completing our disk production tooling and standing up a cleanroom are the steps that turn SpinDetect from a development program into a product."

The company describes SpinDetect as a centrifugal drug analyzer program. Its consumable disks are the component that performs the testing.

## A staged rollout

Lifeloc intends to bring SpinDetect to market in deliberate stages. Initial commercialization will target the U.S. forensic testing market and international markets where permitted. Access to the U.S. workplace testing market will follow receipt of FDA clearance. The first commercial product will be a qualitative pass or fail test for delta-9-THC, the primary psychoactive component of marijuana. Quantitative delta-9-THC disks and a multi-drug panel are expected to follow.

The company said preliminary testing may also support an earlier release into selected lower-complexity, non-forensic applications, such as veterinary testing. It currently anticipates a commercial launch in late 2026 or early 2027. That is an expectation, not a commitment, and the release reports no sales, no orders and no regulatory submission. It says only that the U.S. workplace market depends on FDA clearance that has not been received.

## Pricing and detection threshold

The SpinDetect reader is expected to carry an initial U.S. list price of approximately $7,495, with single-use test disks priced separately. The company said law enforcement customers emphasized the importance of a meaningful margin above legal thresholds to support defensible results. Lifeloc said its initial delta-9-THC product is expected to launch with a detection threshold above the 4 ng/mL oral fluid cutoff referenced in certain federal guidelines, and that it intends to pursue lower detection limits after launch. A threshold above that cutoff means the first product will be less sensitive than the level the guidelines reference.

Willkomm also described "a disciplined, staged approach": prove the technology in forensic and international markets first, then broaden the drug menu and pursue the workplace and federal opportunities. He added that the ability to accurately measure impairing delta-9-THC, discriminated from its metabolites, is why he believes the platform can ultimately help set the standard for roadside and workplace drug testing.

The company believes the analyzer's ability to separate psychoactive delta-9-THC from its inactive metabolites, which distinguishes recent use from prior use, is a key difference from existing screening devices. The release offers no data on accuracy against those devices.

## The core business and the rest of the plan

In its core breath alcohol business, Lifeloc continues to invest in its L-series platform, including an OIML variant of its LX9 device intended to widen its addressable international markets. That variant also includes cost-of-goods improvements. The company describes itself as a trusted U.S. manufacturer of evidential breath alcohol testers and related training and supplies for workplace, law enforcement, corrections and international customers. The company said that while the platform is designed to support a range of future assays, its current development focus is drugs of abuse. It views performance-enhancing drug testing as the most natural adjacency for later expansion.

For the 2025 fiscal year, the company's annual report shows revenue of $9.0 million, against $8.5 million for 2024. It reports a net loss of $2.5 million for 2025, more than double the $1.1 million loss for 2024, so the company is funding this program while losing money. Research and development expense was $2.2 million in both years. Cash used in operations was $499,319 in 2025, against $1.3 million in 2024.
