## The half-year figures

Kazia Therapeutics Limited (Nasdaq: [KZIA](https://aibio.space/companies/kazia-therapeutics/)) filed its half-yearly report for the period ended 31 December 2025 in a Form 6-K on March 30, 2026. The report's dollar figures are Australian dollars: the going concern note gives the cash balance of $69,459,980 at 31 December 2025 as AUD 69.46 million.

The loss after income tax for the half-year was $12,552,490, against $10,453,811 for the same period a year earlier. Research and development expense rose to $4,992,238 from $4,282,101, and general and administrative expense rose to $8,558,016 from $5,108,573. Net cash outflows from operating activities were $9,540,623, against $8,420,244. Basic and diluted loss per share were 0.805 cents, against 2.459 cents.

## Dilution and the capital raised

The directors tie the cash balance to capital raised in the period. The December PIPE, entered on 2 December 2025, raised US$46.51 million after offering expenses. Its terms were 4,530,854,000 ordinary shares at $0.01 per share, plus pre-funded warrants to buy up to 938,490 American Depositary Shares at $4.9999 each. Each ADS represents five hundred ordinary shares.

Ordinary shares outstanding rose to 5,667,995,734 at 31 December 2025 from 809,418,734 at 1 July 2025. The share count used for loss per share rose to 1,560,213,259 from 425,157,427.

The company also sold stock through its at-the-market facility. From July through December 2025 it raised US$1,397,016 net of expenses that way, and US$35.19 million of ATM capacity remained.

## Nasdaq status and the going concern basis

The report says the company received Nasdaq notices of non-compliance with the minimum Market Value of Listed Securities requirement during the period. On 18 December 2025, the Nasdaq Office of General Counsel confirmed that the company had regained compliance with Listing Rule 5550(b). Its ADSs continue to trade on The Nasdaq Capital Market.

The directors prepared the accounts on a going concern basis. They point to a net current asset position of $45,612,689, against a net current liability of $9,119,727 at 30 June 2025. They cite cash flow forecasts for at least 12 months and capital-raising mechanisms. That conclusion depends on continued access to capital.

## Research and what it rests on

The report describes paxalisib's move beyond neuro-oncology into breast cancer. Its updates include a Phase 1b study in metastatic triple-negative breast cancer, collaborative ex vivo studies in HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer and expanded-access use.

Those updates are thin. On July 10, 2025, the company reported preliminary results from the first patient in its Phase 1b combination regimen after 21 days of dosing, including a reduction of more than 50% in circulating tumor cells. On September 11, 2025, it reported a statistically significant reduction in circulating tumor cells in ex vivo blood samples from HER2-positive patients. On October 2, 2025, it reported one expanded-access case in metastatic triple-negative breast cancer, with an 86% reduction in overall tumor burden after three weeks. A November 18, 2025 update described an initial immune-complete response in metastatic triple-negative breast cancer in an expanded-access setting. Taken together, the evidence is a single Phase 1b patient, laboratory samples and expanded-access cases, none of them a controlled comparison.

The company also intends to request a follow-up FDA Type C meeting on overall survival findings in newly diagnosed glioblastoma. In October 2025 it in-licensed a first-in-class PD-L1 protein degrader program from QIMR Berghofer, with a lead optimized compound called NDL2.

## The prior fiscal year

For the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2025, the company's annual report on Form 20-F showed revenue of AUD 42,000, against AUD 2.3 million the year before. Research and development expense fell to AUD 7.3 million from AUD 17.4 million, while cash used in operations rose to AUD 13.3 million from AUD 9.6 million.

The report says no matter has arisen since 31 December 2025 that significantly affects operations.
