Jaguar Health, Inc. (Nasdaq: [JAGX](https://aibio.space/companies/jaguar-health/)) reported consolidated second quarter 2026 financial results on August 19, 2026, in a Form 8-K that includes its earnings release. The company held an investor webcast the same day at 4:30 p.m. Eastern. Total net revenue for the quarter was $1,225 thousand, compared with $2,979 thousand a year earlier. The loss from operations was $7.6 million, and the net loss attributable to common stockholders was $12.7 million.

## The Future Pak license

Effective January 12, 2026, Jaguar entered into a U.S. commercial licensing agreement with Woodward Specialty, LLC, an affiliate of privately held Future Pak, LLC. Under the agreement, Future Pak is the exclusive U.S. marketer for Mytesi and Canalevia-CA1. All revenue generated in the United States from those two products, effective from January 12, 2026, is directed to Future Pak. Napo remains the manufacturer of crofelemer and Mytesi and supplies product to Future Pak at cost-plus terms. The company says Future Pak does not report its Mytesi sales.

The initial $16 million upfront payment and a $3 million payment for early termination of a buy-back option under the agreement were recognized as license revenue in the first quarter of 2026. As announced in August 2026, Jaguar has satisfied the closing conditions to receive a non-dilutive $2 million holdback of the upfront fee from Future Pak. The company says the arrangement aligns with its strategic focus on developing its powder-for-oral-solution formulation of crofelemer for rare intestinal failure indications.

## Second quarter results

Product revenue, net, was $1,182 thousand in the second quarter of 2026, compared with $2,936 thousand a year earlier. The company says prescription product revenue of about $1.2 million was roughly 2% lower than in the first quarter of 2026, and 60% lower than in the second quarter of 2025, when it was about $2.9 million. The company says Mytesi bottles sold rose significantly from a year earlier, while commercial costs fell substantially.

Cost of product revenue rose to about $1.0 million from $0.5 million, because the company sold inventory to Future Pak under the licensing and supply agreement. Research and development expense was $3.3 million, compared with $3.2 million, mainly because of progress in lyophilization, the process used to make the powder formulation. Sales and marketing expense fell to about $5,000 from $2.5 million after the Jaguar and Napo sales and marketing group was dissolved on January 12, 2026. General and administrative expense was $4.7 million, compared with $4.4 million.

Other items moved as well. Interest expense rose to $161,000 from $15,000 of interest income a year earlier, due to interest accrued on notes. The fair value adjustment on instruments carried at fair value was a loss of $1.9 million, compared with a loss of $1.1 million. The loss on extinguishment of debt was $3.5 million, compared with $1.8 million, after significant modifications that qualified for extinguishment accounting. The company also recorded $43,000 of license fees from a securities purchase agreement with a European partner and federal grant revenue of $25,520 for a canine chemotherapy-induced diarrhea study. Its non-GAAP recurring EBITDA was a net loss of about $8.4 million, compared with $7.9 million.

## What the quarter does not fix

The quarterly picture is weak even with the licence cash. Net revenue fell to $1,225 thousand from $2,979 thousand, the net loss was $12.7 million, and the $16 million upfront and $3 million buy-back payment were recognized in the first quarter, not this one. Cash and cash equivalents were $3.8 million at June 30, 2026, according to the quarterly report filed the same day. The company also presented additional results at ESPGHAN 2026 on crofelemer as an adjunctive oral therapy for pediatric intestinal failure. The headline figure was a reduction in parenteral support normalized to body weight of up to 48% in one patient with the ultrarare microvillus inclusion disease, a single-patient result with no controls. Jaguar says the clinical package for a new drug application should be ready by the end of 2026, allowing a submission in the second quarter of 2027, and the release does not say how that work will be paid for.
