Intensity Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: [INTS](https://aibio.space/companies/intensity-therapeutics/)) reported second quarter 2026 financial results and a business update on August 11, 2026. Cash and cash equivalents totaled $9.5 million as of June 30, 2026. The company said it had initiated activities to resume enrollment at a limited number of U.S. sites in its Phase 3 INVINCIBLE-3 study by the third quarter of 2026, and that it restarted patient treatment in its Phase 2 INVINCIBLE-4 study in July 2026.

## INVINCIBLE-3 and INVINCIBLE-4

INVINCIBLE-3 is a Phase 3 open-label, randomized study testing INT230-6 as monotherapy compared with standard-of-care drugs in second- and third-line treatment of certain soft tissue sarcoma subtypes. The company paused new site activations and patient enrollment in March 2025 because of funding constraints. At that point 21 patients were enrolled. In April 2026 the company began activities to resume enrollment using an amended protocol that the FDA has reviewed.

INVINCIBLE-4 is a Phase 2 open-label, randomized controlled study of INT230-6 given before standard of care in patients with early-stage, operable triple negative breast cancer. The company paused new enrollment in September 2025 to revise the dosing regimen after some patients experienced localized skin irritation near the tumor site. A protocol amendment using a lower drug volume per tumor volume ratio and a single injection was approved by Swissmedic and the Swiss Ethics Committee in March 2026. The company is currently targeting complete enrollment by the end of 2027, and in August 2026 it opened its first site in France.

Preliminary data from the first 14 patients, seven in each cohort, showed a 71% pathological complete response in patients receiving INT230-6 before standard of care, compared with a 42% pathological complete response in patients receiving standard of care alone. The company also reported a 44% reduction in grade 3 adverse events in the INT230-6 cohort compared with the control cohort, and fewer immune-related adverse events when INT230-6 was added before immunochemotherapy.

## Second quarter financial results

Research and development expenses were $1.8 million for the second quarter of 2026, compared with $1.5 million for the same period in 2025. The company attributed the increase to INVINCIBLE-3 restart costs and a bonus accrual absent from the 2025 quarter. General and administrative expenses were $1.3 million, compared with $1.2 million a year earlier. Net loss was $3.0 million for the second quarter of 2026, compared with $2.5 million for the second quarter of 2025.

## Capital raises

In March 2026, the company established a $60 million at-the-market facility. During the second quarter of 2026 it raised $1.7 million under the facility, for net proceeds of $1.6 million. Subsequent to June 30, 2026, the company raised additional net proceeds of $1.3 million under the facility.

Chief Executive Officer Lewis H. Bender, who is also the company's founder and president, said in the release that "We are pleased that the capital raised in 2025 and to date in 2026 provides the resources to reinitiate the Phase 3 INVINCIBLE-3 Study."

## Background on the lead candidate

Intensity calls itself a late-stage clinical biotechnology company. Its lead product candidate, INT230-6, is primarily comprised of cisplatin, vinblastine sulfate and an amphiphilic molecule called SHAO, and is injected directly into tumors.

## The risks ahead

The INVINCIBLE-4 figures are preliminary, come from an open-label study and cover seven patients in each cohort. The release gives no p-values or confidence intervals, so 71% against 42% cannot be read as a proven difference. The study was paused in September 2025 after some patients had localized skin irritation near the tumor site, and the dosing was then changed.

The 10-K describes INVINCIBLE-3 as a 333-patient study. The 10-K says the company plans to restart site activations once sufficient funding is obtained, and the release says enrollment rates are expected to increase as sufficient funding is obtained. Cash and cash equivalents were $9.5 million at June 30, 2026, against cash from operations of negative $9.2 million and a net loss of $11.6 million for 2025. The company has been funding itself through at-the-market share sales, which dilute existing holders. It targets complete enrollment of INVINCIBLE-4 by the end of 2027.
