## The announcement

On July 29, 2026, Lokahi Therapeutics Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Glucotrack, Inc. (NASDAQ: [GCTK](https://aibio.space/companies/glucotrack/)), said it had progressed its LT-100 development strategy. The strategy focuses on whether a historical administration approach, which required up to 15 intradermal injections per treatment visit, can be simplified to a single subcutaneous injection per visit. The announcement was filed with the SEC as an exhibit to a Form 8-K.

Lokahi described the single-injection question as the next stage of LT-100 development. The company said it is preparing for that stage, which is expected to include clinical evaluation of LT-100 given as one subcutaneous injection. Lokahi's chief executive, Erik Emerson, said "The difference between 15 injections and one injection speaks for itself". He said the Type C meeting helped define a path forward and that the company then completed the work needed to evaluate it.

## The FDA meeting and the nonclinical study

During a Type C meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in May 2026, the company discussed its proposed clinical strategy for LT-100. Following that meeting, Lokahi completed a nonclinical minipig study designed to compare systemic exposure after subcutaneous and intradermal administration of LT-100. The company said the results provided important information to support its planned clinical evaluation of a single-injection approach.

Susan Kramer, Senior Vice President of Development at Lokahi, said the team wanted to understand whether subcutaneous administration could achieve systemic exposure consistent with prior clinical experience using intradermal administration. She said the study provided this and other information to guide the next stage of clinical development.

## Timing

Subject to completion of ongoing development activities and regulatory review, the company currently anticipates starting clinical evaluation of the single-injection approach as early as the fourth quarter of 2026. It said an initial readout could occur during the first half of 2027. Historically, in clinical trials, LT-100 has been given through up to 15 intradermal injections per treatment visit, so the planned study would test whether one subcutaneous injection can replace that regimen while keeping a development strategy informed by prior clinical experience.

## About the company and its finances

Glucotrack, Inc. (NASDAQ: [GCTK](https://aibio.space/companies/glucotrack/)) operates Lokahi and, through its subsidiary Glucotrack Technologies, Inc., focuses on novel technologies for people with diabetes, including a long-term implantable continuous blood glucose monitoring system. The company notes that the Glucotrack CBGM is an Investigational Device and is limited by federal law to investigational use.

Lokahi describes itself as a capital-efficient biopharmaceutical platform company focused on identifying, evaluating, acquiring and advancing overlooked therapeutic assets.

The annual report for 2025, filed March 30, 2026, shows research and development expense of $9.8 million for 2025, compared with $9.5 million for 2024. It reports a net loss of $19.4 million for 2025 and $22.6 million for 2024. Cash used in operations was $15.2 million for 2025 and $12.5 million for 2024. Year-end cash and cash equivalents were $5.6 million at December 31, 2024.

## What the announcement does not show

The evidence behind the announcement is a nonclinical minipig study, and the release gives no results from it: no exposure figures, no comparison between the two routes and no statistics. The company says only that the results "provided important information", which is its own characterization. Ms. Kramer's statement describes the aim of the study, whether subcutaneous dosing could reach exposure consistent with prior intradermal experience, and does not say the aim was met. No human has yet received the single injection in a planned study. The release says nothing about whether the FDA agreed with the proposed strategy at the Type C meeting, and it does not report the earlier clinical results that it says inform the plan.

The timing carries conditions. The company anticipates starting as early as the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to completion of ongoing development activities and regulatory review, and an initial readout only potentially in the first half of 2027. Meanwhile the money is thin. The quarterly report shows cash and cash equivalents of $1.1 million at June 30, 2026, against cash used in operations of $15.2 million for 2025.
