Genprex, Inc. (Nasdaq: [GNPX](https://aibio.space/companies/genprex/)) said in a press release dated October 28, 2026 that research from its sponsored research collaboration with Meharry Medical College will be featured at the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting. The meeting takes place November 4 to 7, 2026 in National Harbor, Maryland. The company disclosed the announcement in a Current Report on Form 8-K dated October 28, 2026.

## The poster

The poster is titled "TUSC2 Gene Therapy in Humans Induces a Cellular-Resilience Program." It will be presented in the Late Breaking Poster Session I on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. ET. The presenter is Mark S. Berger, MD, the company's Chief Medical Officer.

The research examines the role of TUSC2, the tumor suppressor gene used in Genprex's lead oncology candidate, REQORSA (quaratusugene ozeplasmid), in mitochondrial biology, cellular resilience and molecular processes associated with aging. The collaboration with Meharry Medical College in Nashville began in 2024.

The company said the work could help inform the evaluation of potential future applications beyond oncology, and that additional research will be needed to determine whether the findings could support future therapeutic development.

## REQORSA and its clinical programs

REQORSA is designed to restore tumor-suppressor function through delivery of the TUSC2 gene. Its Acclaim-1 Phase 1/2 trial combines REQORSA with AstraZeneca's Tagrisso (osimertinib) in patients with late-stage non-small cell lung cancer that has activating EGFR mutations and progressed on Tagrisso or Tagrisso-containing regimens. The Phase 2a portion is expected to enroll about 33 patients, with an interim analysis after 19 patients that the company expects in the second half of 2026.

The Phase 1 dose escalation portion set a recommended Phase 2 dose of 0.12 mg/kg every 21 days. Three of the twelve patients originally enrolled in the Phase 1 portion had prolonged progression-free survival, and one patient has maintained a partial remission through 60 courses of treatment, approximately 42 months. The other two of those three progressed, after about 24 and 10 months, and the sources give no response data for the other nine patients. The FDA has granted Fast Track Designation for the REQORSA and Tagrisso combination in NSCLC patients who progressed on Tagrisso.

The Acclaim-3 trial combines REQORSA with Genentech's Tecentriq (atezolizumab) as maintenance therapy for patients with extensive stage small cell lung cancer who did not progress after initial treatment. The company said it is enrolling and treating patients in the Phase 2 expansion portion of that trial. It ended enrollment in a third trial, Acclaim-2 with Merck's Keytruda, after the 2024 announcement, citing enrollment challenges and delays.

## Financial position

The company's XBRL data, tied to its annual report on Form 10-K filed March 30, 2026, show research and development expense of $9.4 million for 2025, compared with $10.5 million for 2024. Genprex reported no revenue for 2024. The net loss was $16.2 million for 2025, compared with $21.1 million for 2024. Cash from operations was negative $15.3 million for 2025, compared with negative $17.9 million for 2024.

Year-end cash and cash equivalents were $7.8 million at the end of 2025 and $1.6 million at the end of 2024, according to the company's filings. Cash and cash equivalents were $15.2 million at June 30, 2026, as reported in its quarterly report.

## The risks ahead

The announcement is a poster title and a schedule. The release reports no data from the research, so there is nothing yet to weigh for aging, and the company itself says more work is needed before the findings could support any therapy. The lead business is still REQORSA in lung cancer, where the Acclaim-1 interim analysis after 19 patients is expected in the second half of 2026 and the randomized Phase 2b against platinum chemotherapy is still ahead. Acclaim-1 so far rests on a small Phase 1 group in which three of twelve patients had prolonged progression-free survival. The 10-K data show a net loss of $16.2 million and cash from operations of negative $15.3 million for 2025. The company's forward-looking statements name continued Nasdaq listing compliance, the ability to continue as a going concern and raising capital on acceptable terms, or at all, as risks.
