Co-Diagnostics, Inc. (Nasdaq: [CODX](https://aibio.space/companies/diagnostics/)) said on September 16, 2026 that it is collaborating with ReadyGo Diagnostics Ltd. to evaluate whether blood samples can be prepared and tested on the Co-Dx PCR platform at the point of need. The first application is decentralized Ebola virus detection and outbreak response. The announcement appeared in an [exhibit to a Form 8-K](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1692415/000149315226042844/ex99-1.htm) filed the same day.

## The terms

The collaboration is an evaluation. The companies are assessing whether ReadyGo's technology can prepare blood samples for the Co-Dx PCR platform, and whether the two technologies can work together as one workflow that prepares the sample, detects the virus and supports outbreak response. The work builds on an earlier proof-of-concept in which Co-Diagnostics tested an Ebola assay using plasma as a sample type. Co-Diagnostics has taken delivery of ReadyGo materials and devices for the evaluation. The release does not mention payments, supply terms or development milestones between the two companies.

ReadyGo, based in Bath, United Kingdom, develops field sample-preparation technology, including its GoCollect product line. GoCollect is designed to prepare capillary blood samples for molecular testing through integrated sample-conditioning chemistry and plasma separation. Its collection chemistry is also intended to inactivate the virus at the point of collection, which matters when samples are handled outside a laboratory.

The release says compatibility between the two technologies "has not yet been established." Chief Executive Officer Dwight Egan pointed to the potential to expand the platform into additional applications, including HIV and hepatitis B and C.

## The outbreak context

The release cites the World Health Organization on the outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The WHO has reported 6,757 confirmed cases and 3,267 deaths as of Sept 7, 2026, a case fatality rate of approximately 48%, with 61 health zones affected across six provinces. The release says the WHO has described it as the second-largest Ebola outbreak on record, spreading substantially faster than previous outbreaks, and that an imported case has been reported in France this year.

The company argues that testing closer to patients has the potential to shorten the time to a result. The release also says each blood-based application, including bloodborne pathogens such as HIV and hepatitis B and C that swab sampling cannot reach, would require its own development, validation and regulatory authorization.

## Regulatory status

The release states that the Co-Dx PCR platform, including the PCR Home and PCR Pro instruments, the mobile app and all associated tests, has not been cleared or authorized by the FDA, is subject to review by the FDA or other regulators, and is not yet available for sale. The company also says there can be no assurance that the evaluation will succeed or result in a commercially available product.

## Financial position

The XBRL data for fiscal 2025 shows revenue of $622,489, compared with $3.9 million in fiscal 2024. Research and development expense was $19.1 million in 2025 and $21.0 million in 2024. The net loss was $46.9 million in 2025, compared with $37.6 million in 2024. Operating cash flow was negative $29.1 million in 2025 and negative $29.2 million in 2024. Year-end cash and cash equivalents were $2.9 million at the end of 2024, with short-term investments of $26.8 million. The XBRL data gives year-end 2025 cash and cash equivalents of $11.9 million, and cash and cash equivalents of $3.6 million at June 30, 2026.

## What is unproven

This is an early feasibility study, and the release says compatibility between the two technologies "has not yet been established." No performance data are given for blood-based Ebola detection on the platform, only an earlier proof-of-concept using plasma. The platform has no FDA clearance or authorization and is not for sale, each blood application would need its own validation and authorization, and the release gives no timeline.

The finances are the larger concern. Revenue fell to $622,489 in 2025 from $3.9 million in 2024, the net loss widened to $46.9 million from $37.6 million, and operations used $29.1 million of cash. The XBRL data show cash and cash equivalents of $3.6 million at June 30, 2026, against that rate of burn.
