Exicure, Inc. was historically an early-stage biotechnology company developing nucleic acid therapies built on its spherical nucleic acid technology. After a September 2022 restructuring it suspended preclinical activities, and in September 2024 it sold its historical biotechnology intellectual property and other assets to Flashpoint Therapeutics. The company says it no longer owns any intellectual property and that its current focus is exploring transactions with potential partners that see opportunity in joining an existing, publicly-traded organization, which may be focused in Asia. In January 2025 it acquired GPCR Therapeutics USA from GPCR Therapeutics Inc under a License and Collaboration Agreement. GPCR USA completed a Phase 2 trial in January 2026 in blood cancer patients, and a current trial combines GPC-100, a small molecule antagonist of a chemokine receptor, with propranolol to mobilize stem cells in multiple myeloma patients. The company reports no current source of revenue. Its largest stockholder, Exicure HiTron Inc., beneficially owned 25% of outstanding shares as of March 17, 2026.
